Company Overview

As the state’s academic health center, UAMS provides tertiary and quaternary medical and surgical care to a community of 3 million people. In 2015, UAMS launched a highly matrixed platform for clinical care, education, and research. This new structure, named the Integrated Clinical Enterprise (ICE), promotes inter-professional collaboration and clinical excellence by integrating clinicians, nurses, and other clinical professionals into 15 service lines organized around the needs of patients and their families. A corresponding expense-based budgeting process promotes the strategic allocation of institutional resources. UAMS benefits from a sound financial position, a highly trusted clinical brand, and limited competition from other tertiary/quaternary-level medical centers. The institution is actively expanding the reach of its clinical and academic programs through strategic partnerships, affiliations, and other growth-related initiatives throughout the state of Arkansas.
