South Georgia Medical Center is a leading employer and provider of comprehensive healthcare services in South Georgia and North Florida. SGMC was founded in 1955 as a 100-bed community hospital. Today, the 397-bed health system operates four hospitals, South Georgia Medical Center, the Smith Northview campus, Louis Smith Memorial Hospital (Lakeland, GA) and the SGMC Berrien Campus (Nashville, GA). These facilities serve a diverse and aging population with a wide variety of inpatient and outpatient needs.
