Company Overview
Natchitoches Regional Medical Center serves Natchitoches, Winn, and Sabine parishes. We offer a continuum of care from newborns to centennials. Focused on the wellbeing of all those entrusted to our care, we strive as a system to create and implement services and programs which foster a better quality of life.
From primary care services offered through our rural health clinic to assisted living and nursing home services as well as rehabilitation, emergency, and acute care services, our team members across the system are committed to continual improvement, guest service, quality outcomes, and compassion. At NRMC, we challenge one another to inspire excellence in everything we do.
In addition to its 96-bed flagship hospital, NRMC has become a healthcare system offering a broad continuum of innovative care. NRMC now operates 17 health-related clinics and facilities including: Behavioral Health Services, Wound Care Services, The Courtyard of Natchitoches, NRMC General Surgery Associates, NRMC Orthopedic Associates, NRMC ENT Associates, NRMC Pulmonary Associates, Natchitoches Assisted Living Retirement Community, Natchitoches Imaging Center, North Natchitoches Medical Clinic, the Pain Institute, PRISM Center, Regional Cardiology Clinic, Natchitoches Sleep Center, Walk In Clinic, and Women’s Health Clinic. NRMC is also associated with the Northwestern Louisiana Cancer Center.
Company History
In 1956, the people of Natchitoches Parish passed a special property tax to raise money to build a small hospital. The community’s needs have grown over the past six decades, and so has the hospital. Today, NRMC is the largest rural hospital in the state and serves, Natchitoches, Winn, and Sabine parishes and is the sole healthcare system in a 35-mile radius. It offers more specialty services than other rural hospitals in the region such as perinatal services, DaVinci robotic surgery, and total joint replacement to name just a few.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
For the second consecutive year and the third time in the last four years, Natchitoches Regional Medical Center has been recognized as a 100 SafeCare Hospitals® by The SafeCare Group® for low infections, low readmissions, low complications, high patient satisfaction, and high value.
The Quality Texas Foundation, the number one producer of National Baldrige Recipients, has selected Natchitoches Regional Medical Center for its highest recognition – the Governor’s Award for Performance Excellence.
Louisiana Quality Foundation held an Award Ceremony at the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion and recognized four high-performing Louisiana organizations for their leadership, innovation and sustainability. NRMC received the Louisiana Performance Excellence Award — Level 2 for 2018.
Franklin Trust Ratings reviewed the performance of 2,800 hospitals participating in the Centers for Medicare Services Value Based Purchasing program and recognized NRMC as a Top 10 hospital in its size category for its overall performance regarding financial margin, safety, cost and value in 2018.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center awarded NRMC the prestigious Pathway to Excellence designation in 2018. This program recognizes hospitals that have developed the essential elements of an ideal nursing practice that empowers nurses to be leaders, to be champions of patient safety and quality, to be decision makers, to serve as patient advocates, and to be grounded in a positive work/life balance. To earn Pathway designation, an organization must demonstrate that it has integrated 6 practice standards into its day-to-day operating policies, procedures, and management structure — shared decision-making, leadership, safety, quality, well-being, and professional development.
The Louisiana Rural Health Association recognized NRMC for “Excellence in Financial Strength” and “Excellence in Outcomes.”
NRMC’s Comprehensive Wound Care Center was awarded two prestigious national honors for 2019 by Healogics, the nation’s largest provider of advanced wound care services.
Benefits
NRMC offers you a medical plan with three network options of health care providers who offer services at a discounted rate. Managers enrolled in NRMC health insurance program and their covered dependents have priority access to our Walk-In Clinic or an Access Health Clinic at NO COST to the manager for the visit. Full-time Managers are eligible first of the month following 60 days of employment.
We provide you with an opportunity to participate in up to two different flexible spending accounts (FSAs). FSA’s allow you to set aside a portion of your income, pre-tax, to pay for qualified health care and/or dependent care expenses. Because that portion of your income is not taxed, you pay less in federal income, Social Security and Medicare taxes. You may participate in one or both FSA’s whether or not you elect any other benefits.
NRMC offers Voluntary Life & AD&D Insurance (employee paid) for employees, spouses, and dependents through Cigna. Employees can elect the following amounts below. All late enrollments or coverage increases will require Evidence of Insurability (EOI). Payroll deductions are based on 24 pay periods.
NRMC offers Voluntary Short Term Disability, GAP, insurance for full-time benefit eligible Managers . This coverage is 100% paid by NRMC.
Short Term Disability income protection insurance provides a benefit resulting from a covered injury or sickness. Benefits begin at the end of the elimination period and continue while you are disabled up to the maximum benefit duration. NRMC offers Long Term Disability insurance for full-time benefit eligible Managers at no cost to the employee. Managers are eligible the first of the month following 90 days.
